About

The University of Barcelona team offers expertise in health economics, focusing on economic evaluation, health technology assessment, and the analysis of health care access, utilisation, and equity. We generate robust evidence to inform policy and decision‑making in areas such as mental health, long‑term care, the impact of climate change on health, health inequalities, and service provision. We are particularly interested in projects that assess the efficiency, equity, and sustainability of health interventions, including digital health solutions, care pathway innovations, and prevention strategies. Our methodological background includes a range of economic evaluation methods (cost‑effectiveness analysis, cost‑utility analysis, and cost‑benefit analysis) and our research is based on the use of clinical, survey, and administrative data.

For EIT Health projects, we can contribute experience in evaluating the value of health innovations from both clinical and economic perspectives. We are especially interested in collaborating with partners from academia, health systems, industry, and patient organisations to co‑design and assess solutions that improve health outcomes while ensuring affordability and equitable access. We are open to participating in multicountry consortia, pilot projects, and proposal development activities, with the aim of contributing to high‑quality, policy‑relevant research and innovation initiatives that support sustainable, person‑centred health systems across Europe.
