ORCID ID: http://orcid.org/0000-0002-7640-6555. Computer simulation of gas and liquid flow together with heat and mass transfer in multiphase flows allows the look inside every detail of the flow as well as into the details of the heat and mass transfer. The time and cost intensive build-test-modify cycle can be bypassed. This leads to new scientific insights and reduction of development cost and development time. The IMH has many years of experience in the application of computer simulation of fluid flow together with heat and mass transfer in multiphase flows in biotechnology, biomedicine, microtechnology and many others.

About me

Professor Peter Farber earned his Dipl.-Ing. of Mechanical Engineering and Dr.-Ing. at RWTH Aachen University. The latter in the field of heat transfer in pebble beds up to 1100 °C. Since then the analysis and optimisation of fluid flow together with heat and mass transfer is his major field of research interest. During the late eights 80’s and the early 90’s he was working for the textile finishing machinery company Ramisch-Kleinewefers, Krefeld, Germany, where he served as a head of machinery development department. In 1992 he joined Hochschule Niederrhein, Krefeld, Germany as Professor of processes and machinery of textile finishing and as a Professor of fluid mechanics since 2002. His research focuses on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) since he joined Hochschule Niederrhein. Firstly, he applied CFD to textile finishing and later on to various industrial topics. Professor Farber founded together with his colleague Professor Peer Ueberholz the IMH - Institute of Modelling and High-Performance Computing in 2005 and was head of the institute from 2005 to 2016. He has more than 100 publications and presentations. Application of CFD to
