Dating back to the 18th century, the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University has become a creative and open R&I setting for clinical and research leaders. It now has over 1000 staff members, 820 resident doctors, 3200 students (around 700 coming from abroad), and over 120 doctoral students in most fields of biomedical sciences.
The Faculty is affiliated with two major university hospitals that are leading national and regional clinical centers in pediatric and adult medicine. The Faculty boasts a broad and varied experience across fields of clinical and translational medicine, odontology, pharmacology, nursing and public heath.
With the opening of a state-of-the-art 18,000 m² translational Centre for Medical Research we envision a rapid increase in capacity for collaboration with both research and industry. Our members are open to cooperate in clinical projects as well as R&I ventures relying on infrastructure for genetic and single-cell research, digital and AI-driven medicine, 3D printing and materials research, populational biobanking, as well as in vivo studies.
