Florence Vanholsbeeck

I have a degree in translation (ISTI, Brussels), a postgraduate degree in international relations (ULB, Brussels) and an MBA (UBI, Brussels).

Before being appointed as Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Walloon Region for Madrid and WBI Representative in August 2021, I was working for AWEx in Mexico City for more than 8 years as Economic and Commercial Counselor. Even before that, I worked 10 years for the U.S. Embassy in Brussels in the areas of public affairs and protocol.

As an economic and commercial counselor, my main responsibility is to help companies from the Walloon region in Belgium to export their products and services to Spain, and to support Spanish companies that want to invest in Wallonia.

Furthermore, I have also taught diplomacy, protocol and intercultural communication at various institutes and academies in Belgium and the Netherlands (UBI, ECS and TIBA).

In addition to Spanish and French, I also speak English, Dutch and have a basic knowledge of Polish, German, Portuguese and Chinese.
