Industrial and defence partners to pilot sustainable antifouling technology on submerged components and marine infrastructure

About

Titanium Technology is looking to collaborate with defence, naval, and industrial partners to run new pilots that help validate and adapt our patented antifouling system (TiTech) to real-world operational conditions. Our technology uses titanium and low-voltage electrochemical signals to prevent biofouling on submerged components without coatings, toxic chemicals, or frequent maintenance.
We have successfully prototyped and tested several components, including:

  • Grates and seawater intake structures

  • Protective plaques for submerged walls or pools

  • Pipe systems (titanium or hybrid)

  • Heat exchangers (currently in pre-commercial testing)

  • Titanium propellers and small hull components
We are particularly interested in testing our technology in military or strategic dual-use settings, such as ships, submarines, or underwater infrastructure, where stealth, efficiency, and reliability are critical. Partners can help us tailor our system to new materials, geometries, or environments.

Efficient, sustainable, and environmentally safe protection against biofouling

🧪 What is biofouling?
Biofouling is the unwanted growth of marine organisms—such as algae, barnacles, and mollusks—on submerged structures. It significantly affects marine vessels, seawater intake systems, heat exchangers, and other infrastructure by increasing drag, clogging systems, accelerating corrosion, and driving up fuel and maintenance costs. Traditional solutions rely on toxic paints or frequent manual cleaning, often harming marine ecosystems in the process.

🚀 Our solution: TiTech
At Titanium Technology, we’ve developed a patented antifouling system that prevents biofouling without chemicals, coatings, or maintenance. Our innovation uses titanium surfaces combined with low-voltage electrochemical signals to disrupt biofilm formation—the first step in the fouling process. This creates a protective, clean, and durable environment around the component.

Proven in field conditions for over 3 years, our system has kept seawater intake grates, pipe systems, and marine plaques completely clean. It has been successfully piloted with major partners such as Enagás, MB92, and AkzoNobel, and is ready for dual-use and industrial applications.

🌍 TiTech is silent, non-toxic, and aligns with the EU Green Deal and global sustainability goals—ideal for shipping, energy, desalination, aquaculture, and defence.
