EMCare is a passive digital monitoring tool that continuously and unobtrusively assesses cognitive function and disability progression in patients, based on real-world smartphone interaction patterns such as typing and tapping speed, captured during patients' everyday device use. Because it requires no active input — no questionnaires, scheduled tests, or reminders — its passive nature inherently guarantees near-complete adherence, a key limitation of traditional patient-reported and clinic-based assessments. This continuous, unobtrusive data collection provides objective, high-frequency insight into a patient's true clinical trajectory between visits, enabling earlier detection of subtle changes than periodic in-clinic evaluations allow.
