B recover™: The first regenerative treatment for ischemic stroke, seeking investment
CEO & Founder at OMBÚ

About
Stroke is the second leading cause of death and the leading cause of disability worldwide, yet only one therapy exists, reaching just 10 to 15% of patients. Newborns and children have no treatment options at all, and nothing on the market repairs the tissue damage stroke leaves behind.
B recover™ is a first-in-class injectable, in situ-forming hydrogel that regenerates brain tissue after ischemic stroke. It is designed as a platform across three patient populations: neonatal, pediatric, and adult. Preclinical proof of concept is complete.
Ombú matures B recover™ through preclinical validation and into first clinical stages, reducing scientific and technological risk before a licensee takes on late-stage development, manufacturing, regulatory approval, and commercialization. This unlocks access to an estimated 85% of stroke survivors currently left without any treatment option, in a technological space that has not seen a new therapy reach the market in 30 years.
We are raising 500,000 EUR to complete preclinical studies, file the core patent, and reach formal regulatory classification as a medical device with AEMPS, the milestones that de-risk the asset ahead of first-in-human studies and licensing negotiations. The company holds 100% of its own cap table, with no equity held by any academic or clinical institution involved in the technology's development.
Ombú is founded and led by its academic Lead Inventor, Dr. Merari Tumin Chevalier, chemist, PhD in Materials Science, and Executive MBA, who conceived B recover™ during her Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. She now leads Ombu, combining scientific rigor with business vision, at the head of a multidisciplinary team capable of executing the project. Ombú maintains a healthy, collaborative relationship with all the institutions that gave rise to the project: CURAM, University of Galway; BIOFORGE, Universidad de Valladolid and Hospital Clínico San Carlos. The last one provides clinical validation and hosts the preclinical studies.
We welcome conversations with investors interested in a capital-efficient, de-risked path toward a first-in-class licensing deal in an untapped therapeutic market, with real impact on patients' lives.
