Carla de Carolis
She is International Biomass Expert (PhD), and Marie Curie Research Fellowship in the Biomass field achieved at IFRF - International Flame Research Foundation (Netherlands), and she has working for International Institutions as:
• UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization for developing countries, (since 2021) (i.e. Egypt) and UNDP – United Nation Development Programme (2023)
•EIB - European Investment Bank to support Italian Petrol Industry - ENI Versalis concerning Advanced Biofuels Project, (2022).
•EU Commission DG Research& Infrastructures, as EU reviwer on biomass&advanced biofuels and biorefineries fields (2013, 2025).
•EU Delegation for Waste to Energy Planning, including FiTs for the implementation of Biogas investments to support Egypt's Government (2014, 2020, 2021)
She is Researcher and Project Manager for several EU Projects (UNIVPM), and she worked as technical coordinator of several International Projects since 2004 (EMPFAF, HORIZON EU, H2020, IEE, EuropeAid, FP7, South East Europe, Interreg) with aim of biomass exploitation for the Bioenergy sector integrated with other Renewable Energies sources (training, handbook renewable energy resources GIS mapping, and best practices transferring on biogas chains and biofuels productions) in EU and Non-EU countries (Egypt, Moldova, and Balkans Countries).
She is an Official Member of the Steering Committee of ITABIA - Italian National Biomass Association, which coordinated the “Enabling Project” (H2020) for valorizing biomass residues in BBP - Biobased Products and “Rural Bio Up (Horizon EU)” to support the novel chains and creation of different Regional HUBs.
