About me

Aleksandra Lobnik received her PhD in 1998 at the Institute of Organic Analytical Chemistry of Graz University, Austria. Since 2009 she has been employed as a full professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maribor. In 2006 she co-founded a spin-off company IOS Ltd, where she is the CEO. Prof.dr. A. Lobnik in 2021 become a new member of Slovenian Academy of Engineering, she is also the President of International Sol Gel Society. As a project manager, she participated in more than 50 national and international research projects. She was a technical leader of the EU Resyntex project where she started the research and development of the depolymerization of the textiles. Currently she is leading the EIC OpenLOOP project with the vison to industrialized bio/chemical recycling processes for textile/plastic wastes.

    We used enzymatic and hydrolyses processes to gain new non fossil based feedstock. As a waste we are using PET plastics as well cell textile
