Magnesium based Alloys and Composites
Head of Department "Hybrid Materials and Processes" in the Institute of Material and Process Design at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon
Geesthacht, Germany
About
The requirement for ecological development and sustainable design of components with precisely defined and predictable properties requires a very close link between material and process in the sense of a holistic and integrated approach.
The research focus of the Institute for Material and Process Design is the sustainable and ecological development of innovative materials and manufacturing processes, especially for the transportation sector and for medical applications. The processing technologies are designed to be climate- and resource-friendly along the entire value chain. This is achieved by deriving process-microstructure relationships and translation of results into industrial applications.
