About

CIME applies a wide range of advanced technologies to support its research in structural materials. Key capabilities include:

  • Material characterization, such as mechanical testing under extreme conditions, microscopic and chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, and fracture mechanics.

  • Computational modeling and simulation, using multiscale numerical methods, finite element analysis (FEA), and virtual design tools to study fracture, fatigue, impact, and thermal-mechanical behavior.

  • Material processing and development, including hybrid and nano-structured materials, fiber-reinforced concretes, 3D-printed biomaterials, and marine-resistant coatings.

  • Specialized testing for high strain-rate impact, fatigue, creep, and corrosion.

  • High-performance computing resources, including servers, simulation software, and technical support for all research lines.

These technologies enable CIME to address complex challenges in material design, performance, and durability across a wide range of applications.
