About
XELA’s tactile sensor, known as uSkin, is a high-density, tri-axial sensor array designed to give robots a human-like sense of touch. Each sensing point measures force in three dimensions—normal and shear—allowing robots to detect pressure, slip, and texture with high precision. The sensor is thin, soft, and durable, enabling easy integration into robotic hands and grippers, including retrofits. This advanced sensing technology enhances robotic dexterity, enabling safe handling of fragile or variably sized objects, making it ideal for applications in warehouse automation, manufacturing, and service robotics where sensitive gripping is essential.
