Welcome to EU4Algae's Webinar Series
In 2025 and 2026, EU4Algae will host quarterly webinars to foster the discussion on the 4 fields of the EU Algae Initiative: Governance, Awareness, Research and Business.
Environmental Credits for Seaweed Aquaculture and Marine Permaculture is an interactive online webinar exploring what credible, environmental credit approaches could look like for seaweed outcomes.
Join us to hear the early findings from the EU4Algae study, “Support for Developing Carbon and Nutrient Credit Schemes in the EU” and to help co-create practical, EU-fit environmental credit approaches for seaweed-related outcomes.
Alongside a short snapshot of the study’s initial results, we will hear brief presentations on the EU Nature Credit Roadmap, blue carbon and seaweed aquaculture, carbon modelling, and nutrient uptake from macroalgae.
This webinar will not only feature presentations but also include a co-creation segment in which we will explore together what could be credible, practical, and EU-fit when it comes to environmental credit approaches specifically in relation to seaweed aquaculture and marine permaculture.
What to expect
-
Expert presentations on the Nature Credit Roadmap, blue carbon and seaweed aquaculture, carbon modelling, and nutrient uptake from macroalgae
-
A short presentation of the EU4Algae study’s early findings
-
Breakout co-creation sessions focused on carbon and nature/biodiversity credits
Your input will directly inform the study’s final recommendations, so we really value your insights and experience.
Who should join
Policy-makers and public authorities, seaweed producers/industry, researchers, NGOs, standards and market experts, MRV and monitoring specialists, and anyone working on credible pathways for seaweed-linked environmental outcomes in the EU.
