European Investment Fund

The European Investment Fund (EIF) is part of the EIB Group and supports access to finance for European businesses, with a strong focus on SMEs and small mid‑caps. EIF operates through an intermediated model, providing guarantees, equity investments, and advisory services across the EU and partner countries.

Under the InvestEU Ukraine Export Credit Pilot, the EIF provides EU-backed guarantees to national Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), helping EU SMEs and small mid-caps continue exporting goods and services to Ukraine. This initiative supports Ukrainian economic resilience and recovery, by keeping trade flows open and reducing wartime country risk.
