About

infrared.city is an AI-powered simulation platform designed to make environmental performance data accessible, fast, and usable across the entire urban development process. By predicting complex simulations like wind comfort, solar exposure, and thermal performance in real time, it enables climate-informed decision-making from the earliest stages of design. This foundational technology can now be expanded to power a new generation of tools for sustainable city development.

We are exploring collaborations to further develop infrared.city’s simulation engine into interoperable modules that can serve as core components of digital twins, city-scale resilience assessments, and AI-enhanced urban planning platforms. Our cloud-based architecture, plug-ins for BIM/CAD environments, and open API make it ideal for integration into municipal planning tools, energy efficiency advisory systems, or real estate risk assessment platforms.

The project envisions a simulation-as-a-service layer that supports multiple use cases: from local governments assessing urban heat mitigation strategies, to developers performing impact-based feasibility studies, to research consortia building next-gen planning environments based on dynamic environmental feedback. Our roadmap includes coupling indoor and outdoor simulations, generating explainable AI reports, and linking simulation insights with regulatory or certification frameworks.

We are actively seeking project partners interested in integrating environmental simulation into digital twin ecosystems, city planning platforms, or decision-support tools for climate adaptation. infrared.city provides a scalable, modular, and AI-native foundation for projects aligned with Horizon Europe’s missions on climate-neutral cities, adaptation, and smart communities.
