IA-04: Phosphorus-Functional Soy-Based Thermosets for Flame-Retardant Polyurethanes
Senior European Projects Expert at YTÜ Yıldız Teknopark
Istanbul, Türkiye
About
For this call, we are specifically targeting phosphorus-functionalised soy-based polyols for flame-retardant polyurethane systems.
As illustrated in the concept image, the project will address:
• Replacement of fossil-based polyols with bio-based soy-derived polyols
• Introduction of phosphorus functional groups for intrinsic flame retardancy (halogen-free)
• Development of high-performance polyurethane thermoset foams and rigid materials
• Elimination of hazardous flame-retardant additives
• Reduced oil dependency and improved sustainability
• Circular-by-design strategies for thermoset end-of-life
We are looking for partners in:
-
Industrial production of bio-based polyols
-
Polyurethane system houses and foam manufacturers
-
Flame retardancy and fire testing laboratories
-
Composite and thermoset processors
-
Recycling and thermoset upcycling technology providers
-
LCA and circularity assessment experts
-
SSbD and regulatory compliance specialists
-
End-users in construction, mobility, or electronics sectors
