Traceability & Digital Product Passports for Circular Value Chains

EU Project Manager at Circularise

Den Haag, Netherlands

About

Circularise (www.circularise.com) is an IT company which enables and encourages a circular economy. Circularise has built a platform that enables companies to have full visibility of their value chain, by securely communicating the information that is critical for closing circular loops, for example, all material data, production and origin information, even if the supply chain is unknown to the original equipment manufacturer. Circularise is a service that certifies product characteristics, like the use of recycled, organic, sustainably-sourced or -produced materials at any stage of the production process.

This platform uses the latest encryption technology, as well as Circularise's patented technology, to ensure that data is securely shared through the value chain. The goal is to allow information exchange between actors while allowing them to remain anonymous and owners of their data. This way, they can fine-tune the amount of information they want to disclose and who can access it. It also provides verifiable information, which enables companies to have validated proof of their claims and ensure data is trustworthy.

Traceability and transparency are crucial not only for compliance with regulations, such as ecodesign and digital product passports, but also for building a resilient value chain. Companies, through data visibility, can analyse data on their supply logistics and prepare accordingly in case of possible shortages due to geopolitical conflicts or any other circumstances. It also helps to improve companies' processes and have better risk management (including risk planning, as well as response and monitoring).
