About
Together with two Geman companies (one SME in metal industry and one large-scale gas turbine manufacturer using hydrogen) we are seeking clean steel consortium partners. Until now, we have discussed the following eight working points:
(1) Recognizing the burner condition of the metal heating furnaces/combustion chamber and the subtle change of burner´s flame geometry, in order to improve the steel quality;
(2) Realtime measurement of the fluctuating composition of the green hydrogen in metal heating furnaces/combustion chamber;
(3) Low cost measurement of the oxygen amount in metal heating furnaces/combustion chamber in real time, in order to ensure high energy efficiency and minimize scrap;
(4) Detecting the flame geometry und strength in metal heating furnaces/combustion chamber in real time, in order that the steel quality will at least not reduce if it is produced via gas mixture of methane and hydrogen;
(5) Detecting ice and liquid in scrap metals to be recycled;
(6) Area-based and emissivity-setting independent temperature measurement inside metal heating furnaces/combustion chamber, in order to improve the steel quality;
(7) Detecting hydrogen backfire without lag for metal heating furnaces/combustion chambers;
(8) In-line process monitoring using new smart sensors in conjunction with data-based modelling: better understanding of effects caused by the switch to hydrogen and dynamic adjustment of process parameters to ensure high product quality and minimize scrap.
