Understanding Cancer and importance of data exchange, 1st part (Session B)
This session will explore how strengthened data sharing can accelerate progress in cancer research, prevention and care. It will focus on the development and implementation of the Understanding Cancer platform (UNCAN.eu), a flagship initiative of the EU Cancer Mission, and its role within a broader European cancer data ecosystem.
Discussions will also address how the European Health Data Space (EHDS) can enable large-scale secondary use of health and cancer data. Through rapid-fire presentations and two roundtable discussions, the session will highlight complementarities with key infrastructures such as BBMRI-ERIC, EOSC and EUCAIM, fostering a more coherent and impactful approach to cancer data in Europe. It will showcase projects from the “understanding” cluster (risk factors and tumour–host interactions).
