de.NBI Cloud TRE/SPEs

PI Datascience and Bioinformatics for Mass Spectrometry at Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbH

Bielefeld, Germany

About

The de.NBI Cloud provides a federated platform for operating Secure Processing Environments (SPEs) and Trusted Research Environments (TREs) for sensitive and access-restricted research data analyses. de.NBI Cloud is operated by eight independent sites under a common governance model, it combines trusted operations with flexible, research-driven cloud services.

SPEs on the de.NBI Cloud enable controlled access to sensitive data within isolated computing environments. Technical, organizational, and regulatory safeguards are integrated to ensure secure data processing, and compliance with data protection requirements.

While SPEs are a key requirement in biomedical and health research, the de.NBI Cloud also supports secure environments for other sensitive data types. This allows researchers from different domains to work with protected datasets in a trusted and collaborative setting.

Through its alignment with national and European research infrastructures such as ELIXIR and EOSC-related initiatives, the de.NBI Cloud serves as a scalable and interoperable foundation for trusted research environments.
