Metadata knowledge graph

Software Architect at HUN-REN SZTAKI

Budapest, Hungary

About

With the output of our metadata harvester, we have built a knowledge graph containing the metadata records from major national research data repositories. The graph contains:

  • Metadata schemas used in harvested RO-Crates,

  • Metadata records enriched with Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) such as ORCID, DOI, ROR,

  • Person and Organization entities playing various roles for research datasets,

  • Subjects and keywords as controlled vocabularies.

The software running the knowledge graph is a customized instance of the VIVO Project software. It provides

  • Entities rendered as web pages,

  • Browsing and full-text search for entities

  • Advanced, schema-aware searching, where complex query expressions can be built based on selected metadata schemas.
