ARP Data Repository Platform Software

Software Architect at HUN-REN SZTAKI

Budapest, Hungary

About

HUN-REN SZTAKI develops and maintains the HUN-REN ARP Research Data Repository Platform (https://researchdata.hu/en). ARP is a national initiative of the Hungarian Research Network (HUN-REN), led by SZTAKI (HUN-REN Institute for Computer Science and Control), to build a multidisciplinary repository system capable of hosting the scientific data output of the Hungarian research community. ARP is a federated service that collects data from its own Dataverse repository as well as other institutional data repositories in Hungary to establish a European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)-compliant research infrastructure.

ARP is built on Dataverse, extended with additional services and deep metadata-centric integrations.

  1. Deep CEDAR integration. Provides schema registry functionality and an intuitive drag-and-drop editor for Dataverse metadata blocks and additional schemas (including file-level schemas).

  2. RO-Crate import & export. Full support for RO-Crate with complete coverage of Dataverse metadata fields.

  3. RO-Crate editing with AROMA. Enables editing of RO-Crate JSON with synchronization back to Dataverse metadata. Users can also create and manage additional metadata, including file-level metadata.

  4. VibeARP – Data Steward Assistant. AI-powered assistant and user interface to streamline Dataverse dataset creation through RO-Crate-based workflows.

  5. Full featured Dataverse MCP Server (planned). An MCP server designed to expose full - or selectively configurable - Dataverse functionality.

  6. AROMA 2 (planned). A standalone version of AROMA enabling the creation of RO-Crate packages based on any data sources with upload to Dataverse and other repository services.

  7. RO-Crate Profile Registry (planned): A centralized, searchable repository of RO-Crate profiles that enables authoring tools to generate RO-Crates with predefined structure and content expectations, improving consistency, interoperability, and reuse across tools and domains.
