Tech-Driven Employee Commuting

About
Rethinking the Commute with Technology is a postdoctoral project within an applied research programme with the private sector. It tackles corporate employee transport as a real-world vehicle routing problem. It combines geospatial data, routing engines and optimization heuristics (savings, local search and metaheuristics) to jointly design stops, passenger assignment and shuttle routes, and to re-optimize them continuously as shifts and workforces change.
Efficiency gains reach every stakeholder. Companies get lower costs and reliable ESG data. Operators run fewer kilometres and better-used fleets. Employees have shorter, predictable journeys, drivers follow clearer routes, and cities see fewer cars and lower emissions. If your company, living lab or research works on employee commuting, let's talk.
