Dr. Erhan Karakaya is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Kayseri University, Türkiye. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University, where his research focused on container handling and layout optimization in empty container depots. His academic journey includes a rich blend of international experience, having served as an Assistant Professor at Purdue University and collaborated with research teams in Chile.
Dr. Karakaya’s research interests span applied operations research, optimization under uncertainty, simulation, heuristic optimization, and maritime logistics. He has contributed to several high-impact journals and conferences, including keynote presentations at international symposia. His recent work includes developing AI-powered teaching tools and predictive models for logistics systems, demonstrating a strong alignment with emerging technologies in Agri Tech and Energy sectors.
With a background in both academic research and project coordination—most recently at Yozgat Bozok University’s Technology Transfer Office—Dr. Karakaya is keen to explore collaborative opportunities that bridge academia and industry. He brings expertise in data-driven decision-making, facility layout optimization, and AI applications in engineering education and logistics, making him a valuable partner for interdisciplinary and international R&D initiatives.
