Łukasiewicz – Warsaw Institute of Technology (Łukasiewicz–WIT) is a Polish research institute and part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, one of the largest research networks in Europe. The Institute conducts applied research, technology development, prototyping and validation in cooperation with industry and public-sector partners.

Our activities include advanced sensing technologies, fibre-optic measurement systems, passive acoustic monitoring, artificial intelligence, smart materials, structural monitoring, critical infrastructure protection and autonomous systems.

A key current research direction is the development of passive, distributed sensor networks combining fibre-optic sensing, acoustic detection and AI-based signal processing. These systems are designed for early detection, classification and localisation of UAVs, vehicles, human activity and other relevant events in complex environments.

Łukasiewicz–WIT has capabilities in system integration, laboratory testing, prototype development, field validation and technology demonstration. We are interested in cooperation with research organisations and companies from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, particularly in the areas of distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), fibre-optic sensing, signal processing, artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, autonomous systems, critical infrastructure resilience and border monitoring.

For POLNORIS, we are looking for partners interested in jointly developing and validating innovative dual-use technologies with strong civil applications in resilience, infrastructure protection, environmental monitoring and safety.
