Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, established in 1944, is the largest public institution of higher education in Eastern Poland, hosting over 16,000 students and a robust research faculty across 12 faculties.
Research Focus & Innovation: Our research group operates at the dynamic intersection of Computational Social Science, AI Policy, and Cyber-Resilience Governance. We combine deep legal-political expertise with hard computational capabilities, specializing in:
-
AI & Cybersecurity Governance: Regulatory analysis of EU matrices (AI Act, NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act) and their global diffusion.
-
Computational Text Mining & NLP: Processing vast legal and institutional corpuses using transformer models (LEGAL-BERT), topic modeling (LDA), and semantic vector embeddings.
-
Automated Regulatory Compliance: Designing workflows and software architectures for automated risk management and compliance auditing.
International Cooperation & Grant Readiness: UMCS has extensive experience in managing large-scale national and international R&D projects (Horizon Europe, NCN, NCBR). We actively build consortia with international academic entities, research institutes, and deep-tech industry partners.
We are seeking Norwegian partners (universities, research centers, and tech SMEs) for upcoming EEA Grants / NCBR (Polnor) and Horizon Europe calls focused on trustworthy AI, cyber-resilience frameworks, legal-tech, and digital sovereignty.
