About

Research Collaboration Proposal: Inclusive Commemorative Spaces

I seek international academic and institutional partners to undertake joint research on the comprehensive accessibility of memorial sites. True accessibility extends beyond eliminating physical and sensory barriers; it requires intellectual and emotional legibility.

Key Research Directions:

Retrofitting vs. Integrity: Adapting existing, historical memorials without compromising their artistic originality or simplifying their complex narrative message.

Designing New Spaces: Implementing Universal Design principles where form amplifies the intended narrative rather than flattening it.

Digital Tools Assessment: Evaluating whether digital solutions (apps, AR, multimedia) effectively aid comprehension or if they remain underutilized.

I aim to develop frameworks ensuring memorial spaces are both physically accessible to diverse visitors (including individuals with disabilities and seniors) and semantically understandable, reinforcing the deeper historical narrative through responsive form and spatial harmony.
