About
Łukasiewicz-PORT has partnership with national Center for Nuclear Research, NCBJ-Swierk for pursuing the development of novel solutions for scintillator-based nuclear battery. While Ł-PORT specializes in unconventional scintillator materials, including low-dimensional perovskite crystals and other nanoscintillators, NCBJ possess unique capabilities in conducting radioisotope-involving processess and measurements, including radiochemical and reactor-based experiments as well as specialized light output measurements of scintillators. The Ł-PORT/NCBJ consortium seeks for collaboration with entities that can offer complementary expertise and facilities to conduct the nuclear battery oriented research project (e.g. photovoltaics, semiconductor, opto-electronic, battery or similar profile). Focusing on the development of nuclear battery technology, the project will be aligned with green transformation strategy, particularly through exploring closed-loop opportunities (nuclear waste management) and replacement of state-of-the-art electrochemical battery solutions in selected sectors.
