CNTA, the National Centre for Food Safety and Technology is a private non-profit business association. Since 1981, the aim of this technological research centre is to the development and innovation of the agrifood industry, offering technical support to improve their quality and competitiveness. CNTA acts as a key provider for knowledge, innovation and R&D&I services for over 900 industries (over 490 of which are associated members of CNTA).
CNTA’s core activities are aimed at: Developing, managing and coordinating R&D&I projects both individually and in collaboration with industry, associations, universities, administrations, etc. Providing analytical services: physic-chemical, instrumental, quality control, microbiology and biotechnological, packaging and environmental to support the food sector to comply with industrial quality and food safety requirements. In total, more than 200 analytical techniques (145 of which are certified) are offered to the agrifood sector. Providing the agrifood sector with the technical assistance to produce safe, healthy and quality food.
