My organisation
About me
Years ago, I worked in a small consulting company, helping clients with business plans, marketing strategies, and management challenges. The clients were happy, but I was not. Traditional approaches to business planning and management were slow, rigid, and often failed when the business environment changed. Plans took too much time to develop, focused mainly on financial forecasts, and rarely allowed organisations to test or adapt their business models in practice. Even when clients understood possible solutions, they often couldn’t implement them independently.
I’ve always been passionate about helping organisations provide more value to clients, create opportunities for employees, and grow responsibly. I’m fascinated by the process of change: the journey of becoming flexible, effective, and resilient.
In 2011, I discovered agile approaches to strategy: business design, based on experimentation and evidence-based decision-making. These methods allowed rapid learning, testing of business models, smooth pivots, and meaningful involvement of people in shaping the organisation’s future.
I also realised that even a great strategy cannot succeed without the right human element. People are the heart of any business, but there is a “meta-level” of human-ness that must be designed carefully: organisational culture. I focus on creating workplaces where co-creation, accountability, collaboration, and transparency thrive. I believe this type of culture enables people and through them, organisations: to grow, innovate, and perform over time.
The need for better organisations is more urgent than ever. Our world faces complex global challenges: from climate change and social inequality to technological disruption. Organisations that are rigid, short-term focused, or purely profit-driven will struggle to thrive. To tackle these challenges, businesses need to rethink strategy, culture, and operations in an integrated way.
Over time, my professional focus has grown to include three interconnected areas:
-
Organisational Culture – Designing human-centred cultures that foster collaboration, accountability, and thriving teams.
-
Business Design – Building agile, experimentation-driven strategies and business models that rethink how value is created and delivered across the organisation and its ecosystem.
-
Sustainable Business Design – Embedding social and environmental impact into business strategy, aligning profitability with the long-term well-being of people and the planet (the People-Planet-Profit model).
At Better Organisations, we combine research and practical innovation to help organisations become better organisations: creating more value for owners, stakeholders, customers, people, and the planet. We do this through structured Living Labs, Horizon Europe projects, and Industry 5.0 approaches, where strategy, culture, and sustainability are tested and validated in practice.
Our mission is to enable organisations to navigate complexity, innovate responsibly, and thrive - both commercially and socially - by building resilient, human-centred, and future-ready organisations.
