Circular Feedstock Infrastructure for Bio-Based Materials
About
CorkCycle is a circular material infrastructure company focused on enabling the recovery, traceability, and reintegration of post-consumer natural cork into industrial value chains.
We operate structured collection systems across the hospitality sector, capturing a high-quality bio-based material that is currently lost due to the absence of dedicated recovery infrastructure. Through established logistics, sorting, and cross-border shipment processes, cork is redirected from disposal streams and prepared for industrial reuse.
Our role within bio-based value chains is to act as an upstream enabler, providing consistent, traceable secondary raw material derived from a renewable, forest-based resource. This contributes to the development of circular bio-based materials and supports the substitution of more carbon-intensive inputs in sectors such as construction, composites, and product manufacturing.
CorkCycle collaborates with industrial partners, recyclers, and ecosystem stakeholders to ensure that recovered cork is effectively reintegrated into production systems, maintaining its value across multiple life cycles.
We are particularly interested in participating in projects focused on:
-
valorisation of bio-based residual streams
-
circular-by-design materials and products
-
urban-industrial symbiosis and feedstock systems
CorkCycle brings a unique capability to consortia by unlocking a currently underutilised bio-based resource and enabling its integration into scalable, circular industrial applications.
