IUS innovation is a Swedish consultancy and innovation company working at the intersection of sustainable mobility, behavioural change, accessibility and sustainable urban development. Since 2011, we have supported municipalities, regions, public transport authorities, national actors, property developers and private companies in turning strategies and ambitions into practical action.
Our work covers the full journey from understanding a challenge to testing, implementing and evaluating solutions. We combine strategic analysis with project and process management, user-centred methods, behavioural insights, stakeholder engagement and practical implementation.
A key strength of IUS innovation is working in complex environments where public authorities, businesses, academia, citizens and other stakeholders need to move in the same direction. We design and facilitate collaborative processes, conduct interviews and user studies, analyse travel behaviour and mobility systems, develop strategies and action plans, and support organisations in moving from decisions to implementation.
Within sustainable mobility and mobility management, our experience includes active and sustainable travel, public transport, rural and urban accessibility, mobility and parking strategies, mobility services, shared mobility, behavioural change, customer journeys, travel surveys, scenario analysis, mobility measures connected to property development, and communication aimed at changing travel behaviour. Our assignments frequently combine quantitative data with qualitative insights and co-creation with users and stakeholders.
We also have extensive experience of innovation and demonstration projects. IUS innovation has worked with living labs, pilot projects and new mobility concepts, including autonomous transport in rural areas, demand-responsive public transport, mobility hubs, cycling initiatives and solutions aimed at improving independent mobility for children and young people. Our teams can contribute throughout a project: from needs analysis and consortium development to project management, stakeholder engagement, testing, communication, evaluation and scaling.
Our expertise is strengthened by experience from both public and private organisations. This enables us to connect mobility and urban development with organisational change, business development, digitalisation and implementation. Our in-house UX/UI, web and communication capabilities also allow us to translate insights into accessible digital tools, visualisations and communication for different target groups.
Knowledge sharing is an important part of how we work. Through Mobilitetspodden, IUS innovation contributes to the Nordic conversation on mobility, transport and societal change by bringing together practitioners, researchers, decision-makers and other perspectives. We also develop initiatives focusing on children and young people and their role in mobility and urban development.
For DUT partnerships, IUS innovation is particularly interested in projects where sustainable mobility, behavioural change, accessibility, public transport, active mobility, urban development and new forms of collaboration need to be translated into real-world change.
We can contribute as a project partner, work package leader, process leader, evaluator or implementation partner – particularly where strong links between research, public authorities, businesses and end users are needed.
