About
Producciones en la Arena is an independent cultural and creative practice based in the Canary Islands, Spain, an EU outermost region. It develops community-based cultural projects and participatory methodologies at the intersection of culture, territory, public space and urban transformation.
Its work is rooted in local communities and combines artistic practice, cultural mediation, community engagement, mapping, psychogeography, audiovisual creation and collective processes. Projects are developed through direct work with residents, using local knowledge and everyday experience to identify needs, explore urban challenges and co-create locally meaningful responses.
Current and previous work includes projects around neighbourhood transformation, the right to the city, community memory, public space, care, climate adaptation and collective imaginaries. Producciones en la Arena is particularly interested in collaborating with municipalities, research organisations and technical partners in transnational projects where cultural and creative practice can strengthen community participation, place-based experimentation and the social dimension of urban transitions.
The practice is led by self-employed cultural producer and community cultural practitioner Andrea Farah Gaeta.
