With locations in Weimar (Germany) and Vienna (Austria), the company combines practical consulting with applied research, guiding municipalities, regions, and institutions toward future-proof, sustainable mobility.

Service Profile

A key focus of the company's work is the development and maintenance of complex, multimodal transport models—covering private motorized transport, public transport, and pedestrian and bicycle traffic. A current example is the transport model for the state capital Erfurt; it represents approximately 1,000 traffic zones on an hourly basis and is linked directly to the city’s traffic monitoring system via a bidirectional interface. Building on this, the team is currently developing a forecast model for the year 2035 to realistically anticipate future traffic flows.

These services are complemented by mobility surveys that capture actual travel behavior, as well as mobility research that analyzes trends, new technologies, and behavioral patterns to develop innovative, sustainable mobility concepts. One example is the successfully completed research project "ParkingSpaceInsights" (PSI), which attracted significant interest from public administration, academia, and the private sector.

Potential for Collaboration

For the DUT Call 2026, yverkehrsplanung contributes expertise in data-driven transport modeling, the collection and analysis of mobility data, and the development of digital solutions for urban mobility challenges. Areas of particular interest for partnerships include

• integrating new data sources and sensor technologies into transport models,

• forecasting future mobility needs amidst changing conditions (climate action, electromobility, active mobility), and

• transferring improved modeling approaches to other European cities and regions.

The company is seeking partners from municipalities, research, and industry to collaborate on European projects regarding sustainable urban mobility.
