I am holding a Master’s degree in Business Engineering (2012) and a PhD in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp (2017) on solution methods and algorithms for collaborative vehicle routing problems. From 2017 to 2023, I was Assistant Professor of Operations Research at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University (Netherlands). Since 2023, I am appointed Associate Professor of Operations Research and Supply Chain Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Antwerp and the Antwerp Management School.
My main research focus is on the development of optimization techniques and algorithms — both exact methods and (meta)heuristics — to solve various problems in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Amongst others, I study multi-stakeholder models for supply chain collaboration, speed optimization and vessel synchronization on inland waterways, data-driven optimization of dynamic warehouses, circular supply chain models, and logistics optimization in space.
