Founder and CEO of realitylab gmbh. Gernot studied political science and sociology at the University of Vienna. Since 1991 he has worked as an interaction designer, researcher and consultant for participatory social processes. Gernot’s company „realitylab“ designs and supports social processes in the area of housing and city development, with a focus on co-operative housing (Baugruppen) and social sustainability in Vienna’s public housing program. As founder and director of the Media Architecture Institute he initiated and co-curated the Media Architecture Biennale in Vienna, Aarhus, Sydney, Beijing and Amsterdam and served as chair for conferences, exhibitions and awards. Gernot is currently member of the Quality Advisory Board for Urban Development in Vienna.
