CUE-FLOWURB – Flowering Urban Biodiversity Project

Željka Sanader Maršić

Accociate Professor, Faculty of Science at Faculty of Science

Split, Croatia

About

We’d like to propose a project focused on enhancing city parks by planting local wildflowers that are naturally adapted to our climate. These species require less watering and maintenance, while also supporting pollinators and other beneficial insects.

The main challenge is that such flowers typically grow in “wild” or unmanaged meadows. Our goal would be to find sustainable ways to integrate them into urban green spaces.

We are seeking partners, preferably from the Mediterranean region, who would be interested in collaborating on this project.
