Ergene Municipality is a proactive local authority in Tekirdağ Province, Türkiye, located in the Marmara Region — one of the country’s most dynamic industrial and environmental transition areas. The municipality serves over 65,000 residents and works to balance industrial growth with sustainability, livability, and climate resilience.
For Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Call 2025, Ergene Municipality aims to join international partnerships focusing on:
1. Resilience aspects of combining green and social infrastructure,
2. Public procurement to foster urban greening and circularity.
3.Ensuring positive socio-economic impact: PEDs in local economies and energy markets
4. PEDs in urban heating and cooling strategies
With a dedicated R&D and Project Development Unit, Ergene Municipality is ready to collaborate with universities, SMEs, and NGOs to pilot innovative, scalable, and inclusive solutions. The municipality provides a diverse testing environment that includes industrial zones, residential neighborhoods, and green areas — ideal for implementing and replicating urban transition models.
