The Repair Lab in Brussels : a pilot space for sustainable repair practices
About
Repair Together is a Brussels-based non-profit organization that represents and supports the community repair movement in French-speaking Belgium. We represent the network of repair cafés, provide tools and training, and foster collaboration between citizens, associations, and local authorities to make repair accessible.
The Repair Lab is our pioneering space dedicated to repair as a key lever of the circular economy. Functioning as an open workshop, it brings together citizens, researchers, policymakers, and businesses to experiment with new practices, spaces, and methods of repair. The Repair Lab provides hands-on data, fosters skills development, and serves as a place to explore innovative ways to extend product lifespans and reduce waste.
We are seeking an opportunity to contribute to CUE Topic #1.
The Repair Lab could:
-
serve as a real-life testing ground for innovative repair solutions,
-
co-create and validate new approaches with diverse local stakeholders,
-
contribute practice-based knowledge to strengthen circular economy strategies,
-
act as a visible European frontrunner in developing inclusive, community-based repair ecosystems.
This is an opportunity to integrate a concrete, citizen-driven initiative into a broader European framework and support experimentation at the intersection of social innovation and the circular economy.
