Tradable Credit Schemes - MobilityCoins

Johannes Müller

Research Group Leader at Technical University of Munich

Munich, Germany

About

We want to introduce MobilityCoins as a tool for communities (such as businesses) to promote environmentally friendly mobility behavior. MobilityCoins are a virtual currency that varies depending on the distance traveled and the mode of transportation used. The exchange rate to EUR depends on consumption within the community. Low consumers can earn money by selling their unused MobilityCoins, while high consumers must purchase additional coins. A tracking app documents the journeys of participants, while a trading platform facilitates the exchange. Incentives can be paid directly to participants or flow into a community budget for sustainable infrastructure.

In Germany, we are open to collaborate with companies (or other communities like neighborhoods) who want to conduct pilots with their employees.

Partners from other countries are welcome to approach us if they have similar ideas or ideas that complement tradable credit schemes.
