Dual-Use Technologies 2026

The “X International Forum on Dual Use: Dual Technologies for the European Defense Industry,” to be held in Seville on March 26, 2026, will feature a Pitching Session designed to showcase startups developing dual-use technologies (civilian and defense).

The main aim of this call for startups is to select 8 startups to present their solutions to investors, corporations, public administrations, and stakeholders in the defense and innovation ecosystem.

How will the Pitching Session work?

The session will follow a dynamic format of short presentations, with a maximum duration of seven minutes each, aimed at highlighting disruptive and cutting-edge projects in dual-use technologies. The objective is to showcase disruptive innovations, capture the attention of potential investors and collaborators, and provide a platform for new ideas to gain visibility and momentum.

  • Technological Startups 
  • Spin-offs
    • Early-stage companies
  • Seeking investment or industrial partners
  • With international ambition 
  • In a possesion of a technology in the validation or sacling phase
  • Participation Requirements

    • Up to 7 years old since their establishment
    • Have a product, technology, or project with a clear dual application.
    • Seeking funding, collaboration or access2markets
    • Be legally established in Europe or associated countries
    • Fulfill the registration form correctly

    Criterios de Selección

    Each criterion will be evaluated with a maximum of 5 points, so the total score will be up to a maximum of 30 points. The 8 companies with the highest scores will be selected. In the case of having 2 companies with the same score, first come first serve principle will be applied.

    • Links to Dual-Use Technologies: Companies with dual-use technology projects or products, with both civilian and military applications, especially in the defense sector.
    • International Component: Companies with experience in international markets or with international ambitions.
    • Looking for funding: Companies looking for public and/or private funding for their projects or expansion.
    • Collaboration Opportunities: Companies seeking to establish alliances with other companies or institutions (seeking partners for current EDF calls for proposals, seeking technology/commercial/research partners, seeking funding).
    • Degree of Technological Innovation: Level of disruption and technological novelty in the products or services offered.
    • Projects vs. Ideas: Companies with established projects, with tangible results or in advanced stages of development.

    How to take part in the Pitching Session?

    1. Register on the event webiste, indicating your interest in participating in the Pitching Session
    2. Fulfill the Expression of Interest (EoI) form, including the title the topic and provide a description of your Technology / product / Project no later than 13th March 2026. To Access the EoI form please click here
    3. Selected candidates taking part in the Pitching session will be notified from 16-20 March 2026.
