Biotech entrepreneur developing next-generation veterinary biologics based on single-domain antibodies (or nanobodies) for chronic and immune-mediated diseases in companion animals. 15+ years of experience across the pharmaceutical value chain.

My organisation

NanoVet Biotech develops veterinary biologics based on single-domain antibodies (SDAbs or nanobodies) engineered for systemic administration with extended half-life, enabling their use in chronic and immune-mediated diseases in companion animals. To overcome the intrinsic limitation of rapid systemic clearance associated with conventional nanobody formats, NanoVet has implemented proprietary strategies to increase systemic exposure and durability. These approaches enable nanobody-based therapeutics to achieve pharmacokinetic profiles compatible with sustained systemic activity and chronic dosing regimens, while preserving the intrinsic advantages of nanobodies in terms of specificity, stability, and manufacturability. The company’s lead program targets canine atopic dermatitis and has achieved proof of concept results in dogs. This program is under a commercial agreement with a veterinary pharmaceutical company, with bioprocess development underway. Additional programs include immune checkpoint-based cancer therapies, osteoarthritis in dogs and cats, and chronic kidney disease in cats, currently at early development stages. The anticipated outcome is a portfolio of nanobody based systemic veterinary biologics addressing chronic and immune mediated diseases. The primary end users are veterinarians and companion animals, while veterinary pharmaceutical partners and pet owners act as buyers and payers.
