New Generation Sensors (NGS) is a multidisciplinary Industrial IoT R&D company and spin-off of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa). We design, build and scale edge-to-cloud solutions that turn field signals into business outcomes—combining embedded systems, IoT communications, Linux/edge computing, cloud platforms, data analytics/AI, and blockchain for trusted traceability. On the product side, we offer two ready-to-deploy platforms. TrackOne delivers end-to-end supply-chain visibility for Industry 4.0 and logistics: it unifies IoT/RFID telemetry (location, condition, events) with operational documents in one cooperative layer, interoperable via GS1 EPCIS 2.0/EDI. With optional Blockchain + IPFS notarization, TrackOne provides tamper-evident audit trails and secure data sharing among shippers, 3PL/4PL and authorities—ideal for pharma and food chains where quality, safety and compliance are non-negotiable. PlantOne is our predictive-maintenance suite for multi-site plants and buildings: edge sensors and gateways stream vibration, temperature and process effects to a cloud analytics layer that calculates asset-health indices, flags anomalies early and opens SLA-based work orders to cut downtime, energy waste and service disruption.

In our research portfolio, we focus on digitalizing sensitive supply chains in a Physical Internet logic: standardized identifiers, event semantics and shared services that enable interoperability across organizations and modes (first/last mile and main carriage).
