About
Object is a team of seven engineers in Poland who have automated geometry work for engineers and manufacturers since 2015. Projects cover CAD/CAM automation, production preparation and product configurators. Where off-the-shelf CAD cannot handle a shape, the studio writes its own solvers, for example for meshes from 3D scans or for parts generated under physical constraints. In the finished program the user works with the parameters of one task, such as dimensions or order data, and does not operate the CAD engine directly. Many of these programs run in the browser and exchange data with the client's ERP, MES or machine controllers.
A project lasts 6 to 24 months. For that time Object's engineers work inside the client's engineering team. The client owns the result, delivered as source code and models. Maintenance of the algorithms after delivery is available under a separate agreement. About 20 projects have been delivered so far, in ten sectors that include medical devices, metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, furniture and interior products, shipbuilding, and construction with BIM.
Work usually starts with a three-week geometry audit on the client's own files, at a fixed price of €3,999 credited against the project. The audit produces a written verdict and no prototype: each part of the task is classed as fixed scope, bounded risk or research with no guaranteed outcome.
In a research consortium Object takes the work package in which the demonstrator is built. The demonstrator is an application that the industrial partner's staff run themselves, and it produces the files used in production, such as STEP models, DXF drawings or a bill of materials. It is built on the consortium's research result and tested in pilots on the partner's real production data.
Fraxin is the studio's own R&D project: a supplier sees only the mating interfaces of an assembly, with the rest removed on the server. It is at evaluation stage and is not offered as a product.
