EU Projects Consultant at NewCo S.A.
Athens, Greece
About
Programme: Horizon Europe – Cluster 3, Civil Security for Society
Target Topic: HORIZON-CL3-2027-01-INFRA-01 – Enhancing physical protection of critical infrastructures
Project stage: Concept development / Consortium building
NEWCO S.A., a Greek technology SME specialising in AI, Industrial IoT, Blockchain/DLT and cybersecurity, is developing the preliminary TRUSTSHIELD-IoT concept for Horizon Europe 2027.
The project aims to strengthen the physical protection and operational resilience of European critical infrastructures through an integrated architecture combining smart IoT sensing, tamper-evident asset monitoring, AI-assisted threat detection, secure event integration and verifiable digital incident records.
The proposed approach will connect physical security information with trustworthy evidence management, risk assessment and human-centred operational decision support. It will address scenarios such as unauthorised access, physical tampering, sabotage and emerging cyber-physical threats.
Planned activities include:
-
Assessment of critical infrastructure vulnerabilities and emerging physical threats.
-
Development of an interoperable, security-by-design IoT and AI architecture.
-
Integration of cryptographically verifiable event records and audit trails.
-
Operational pilots with European critical infrastructure operators.
-
Development of incident management procedures, validation methods and operator training materials.
Partners sought
We are particularly interested in:
-
Critical infrastructure operators, including energy, utilities, logistics and transport.
-
Civil protection, security and infrastructure-resilience authorities.
-
Universities and research centres specialising in physical security, AI, IoT and cyber-physical systems.
-
SMEs and industrial partners providing sensors, surveillance, security or system integration technologies.
-
Partners experienced in Horizon Europe project coordination, impact assessment and exploitation.
The target Horizon Europe topic requires at least three eligible security practitioners participating as beneficiaries.
NEWCO's proposed contribution
NEWCO can contribute secure IoT integration, blockchain-based event provenance, AI-assisted monitoring, cybersecurity architecture, prototype development and technical validation, drawing on its existing technology portfolio and European R&I experience.
Collaboration objective
We are seeking complementary organisations to jointly refine the concept and explore consortium formation for the 2027 call. We are also open to joining related initiatives led by other organisations and building long-term reciprocal Horizon Europe partnerships.
