About

Integrated within the Portuguese Catholic University, the School of Arts is located in Porto and offers various degrees in art education.

Established in 1997 with the aim of promoting artistic education in the fields of audiovisual and new media, it has since established itself among the artistic schools within the Portuguese university universe, positioning itself at the forefront of the use of digital technologies. Focusing on the integration of education with artistic production and research, it develops research not only from a "paper-based research" perspective but also as artistic, technological, and discursive production, stimulating the exploration and dissemination of different artistic languages.

The pedagogical and scientific project of the School of Arts lies in the exploration of the different dynamics that characterize the contemporary world through the programming of a set of artistic and cultural initiatives. In recent years, it has proposed a continuous exhibition program, which includes national and international artistic residencies, as well as a series of open lectures and various masterclasses.
