ROXA CNC Milling Center: automated loading for up to 4 CNC machines

The ROXA CNC Milling Center is a modular automation system that serves up to 4 CNC machining centers from a single system. Zero-point clamping pallets are swapped automatically, and the operator prepares parts away from the machine while it keeps cutting. The system is already in commercial use. It is designed for small manufacturing companies from 4 employees as well as mid-sized production.

How it works

A ceiling-guided loading system carries an arm that travels on a rail above the machines. The arm swaps pallets on the machines and hands them over to a setup table for the operator.

The setup table has 4 sliding places and is positioned opposite the machines. A place that is pushed in means the pallet is released for production. The sequence is:

1. When a machine finishes, the arm takes the finished parts to the assigned table place and cancels its release.

2. The operator pulls the place toward them, changes the parts and pushes it back in. This releases the pallet for production again.

3. The arm takes a pallet from the nearest released place for that machine and prepares it at the machine for the swap.

4. If the machine that finishes first has no released pallet, but the machine finishing second does, the arm serves that one. Otherwise it waits.

A pallet swap on the machine takes 90 seconds.

Control without programming

The delivery includes a control system with drag-and-drop operation. The user sets the arm's paths and assigns pallets to machines in a graphic plan, with no programming and no robot programmer needed.

Planned upgrades, not part of the basic delivery:

• AI proposal of the path sequence based on a list of programs and cycle times

• ERP connection (Odoo first) to automatically obtain the data for path generation
