Advanced Materials for Industrial Leadership – How will R&I activities contribute?
Advanced Materials are the backbone of technological progress. Intentionally designed and engineered to exhibit new or enhanced properties, these new materials offer superior performances or unique functional attributes to the products that incorporate them.
The demand for innovative advanced materials is projected to increase shortly, driven in particular by the goals of the twin green and digital transition, with the potential to significantly boost Europe's competitiveness and resilience. To make the most of this opportunity, the European industry needs to be able to develop, produce and integrate more rapidly Innovative Advanced Materials that meet increasingly complex application requirements and ever more demanding sustainability and circularity constraints while coping with global competition and ever shorter product life cycles.
The session will focus on how to create a coherent and coordinated approach to retain and consolidate Europe’s leadership in advanced materials by connecting leading R&I stakeholders with the needs of European industries, enabling an increased and accelerated uptake of advanced materials and an upscaling of their production capacities.
