Since 2012, EMIRI - the Energy Materials Industrial Research Initiative - has represented about 60 organizations (industry, research, associations) active in Advanced Materials Technologies for clean and sustainable energy and mobility. The association contributes to the industrial leadership of developers, producers, and key users of advanced materials by shaping the innovation, manufacturing, and energy policy framework at the European level. In the frame of Horizon 2020, EMIRI closely collaborated with the European Commission to develop an Innovation Pillar on advanced Materials & Nanotech for clean energy & clean mobility technologies. More recently, EMIRI has been instrumental in setting up BATT4EU, the European Partnership under Horizon Europe on Batteries. EMIRI proposes an updated multi-annual technology roadmap focused on advanced materials innovations for clean and sustainable energy and mobility technologies, contributing to achieving the EU net-zero carbon ambition by 2050. Currently, EMIRI is coordinating the Advanced Materials 2030 Initiative (AMI2030), which works at the setting-up of a co-programmed partnership under Horizon Europe on Innovative Advanced Materials (IAM4EU).
