About
WIM-PIB operates a Clinical Research Support Center (CWBK); establishment: 2021-2025 (financed by Medical Research Agency, budget: PLN 11 616 419/ approx. EUR 2 750 700,00); developed in 2025-2026 under the project “_Strengthening the Scientific and Research Capacity of the Clinical Research Support Center at the Military Medical Institute—National Research Institute_” funded by the Medical Research Agency (ABM)/ National Reconstruction Plan (KPO); budget: PLN 7,499,968.00 (approx.: EUR 1 777 250,00).
In the last 10 years WIM-PIB has conducted 134 commercial clinical trials across 18 fields (e.g. oncology, dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, endocrinology, cardiology, gastroenterology, hematology, gynecology, otolaryngology, pulmonology, allergology, nephrology, gastroenterology, urology, and radiology) and since 2020 – 20 non-commercial clinical trials.
In the last 10 years WIM-PIB accomplished above 100 research projects for over 430 million PLN. Currently WIM is implementing 88 research projects worth PLN 435 million.
Key initiatives include:
• DIAGNOTROP - infectious diseases in combat settings (24 million PLN/ 5.6 million euros),
• 20 non-commercial clinical trials (over 222 million PLN/ €52 mln),
• Establishment and development of two key research support units in WIM-PIB:
- Clinical Trials Support Centre (18 million PLN/ €4.3 million),
- Regional Digital Medicine Centre (27 million PLN / approximately €6.4 million),
• AMULET – R&D project on telemedicine solutions in the care of patients with heart failure (13 million PLN/ €3.1 million) - in commercialization (IT system and telemedicine devices).
